Despite a ballot initiative designed to amend the state constitution and repeal the measure this November by legitimizing "one man, one woman" marriage, the California Supreme Court declined to stay it's ruling that legalized Gay marriage.
Under pressure from conservative groups and attorneys general from 11 states, the court refused to stay its historic May 15th order that legalized Gay marriage in the Golden State.
Despite gathering enough signatures to put an anti-Gay marriage ban on the ballot in November, opponents of Gay marriage are not expected to see that measure pass. Public opinion polls cite that fewer than 41% of Californians back banning Gay marriage and even fewer support amending the state's constitution to legalize a ban.
Gay marriages are set to begin on June the 16th at 5 p.m. Pacific DST.
