Hello, Darlings...
I trust everyone has had an enjoyable and safe Pride Month. And for those of you who still are waiting for your Pride celebrations, my best wishes to you and your LGBT community for a festive Pride. London's Pride celebration is this Saturday, 5 June.
Miss LuLu was honoured to ride on a local float here in New York. Not that it was all that enjoyable as Mother Nature had other plans. She let loose with horrendous thunder, lightning, and, finally, a deluge. No, make that TWO deluges. Needless to say my hair piece...er...hairdo, was undone. At the end of the festivities Miss LuLu was wearing a wet mop on her head.
To make matters worse, as I struggled to get past the screaming masses who were trying to find shelter from the rainstorm, I was nearly trampled to death. No, not by the aforementioned screaming masses, but by one woman who could quite honestly qualify as a screaming mass all by herself. This lady had the unchallenged gall to wear incredibly high heels on incredibly fat feet.
The whole incident happened as she bent over to undo the straps on her shoes because those incredibly fat feet where threatening to turn gangrenous. As she bent down suddenly, her hoarding-sized, rhinoceros arse struck me as I was about to reach for the portable toilet door. I was thrown clear across the street on to a massed group seeking shelter under a shop canopy. Miss LuLu was not pleased.
Kiddies, pay close attention to what I'm about to say.
If you are a spectator at any event that requires your standing for long periods of time, never EVER wear heels. It is bad form to wear heels to a Pride parade if you are not IN the parade. And if you are in the parade and want to wear heels, make sure you're riding on a float.
Despite this mishap, I forgive the lady in the spirit of Pride. However, there should be a size limit on the people allowed to attend any public, outdoor gathering…if only for our safety.
Kisses from the Missus
